Here at Mobile Physiotherapy we are passionate about your recovery and returning you to the normal activities of life. Following the best practice standards, we pride ourselves in providing the highest quality physiotherapy that is safe and which will ensure our patients get the best rehabilitation available.

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is the use of scientific-based treatments and education to relieve discomfort and pain, restore movement, regain muscle strength, and return people to their normal functional abilities.

Our patients are our top priority. From the very acute injury, through to more chronic and persistent problems. We analyse and diagnose conditions that will facilitate a speedy recovery. As physiotherapists, we treat all musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary problems. The techniques that we use include joint mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue massage, exercise prescription, movement education, electrical modalities, taping and other non-invasive therapeutic techniques.

We combine the highest level of university-based training and clinical knowledge together with experience and contemporary scientific research to achieve the best outcomes for you.

Why physiotherapy & what are the benefits?

A physiotherapist has studied at university to become an expert in how the body works. They assist in recovery from injuries and operations, providing education and treatment that is non-invasive and tailored to the needs of the patient. They work with everyday conditions such as arthritis and sporting injuries as well as complex ongoing chronic conditions. They collaborate with their patients to devise plans to help remedy physical conditions that limit activities of daily life. They help return their patients to their best life possible by improving their fitness and physical abilities.

Typically, a physiotherapist will treat a variety of conditions to get you back into life sooner.

  • Back pain
  • Neck and Shoulder pain
  • Hip and Knee rehabilitation (Post surgery)
  • Exercise Rehabilitation
  • Nerve pain
  • Cryotherapy and heat treatment
  • Balance and physical deconditioning

The principal skill separating physiotherapists from the rest in their field is their diagnostic abilities. They are trained to identify and diagnose conditions so that appropriate treatment can be provided. Examples are joint restrictions, tendonitis, bursitis, muscle imbalance/weakness, nerve irritation and compression. They assess the whole body and develop an approach that uniquely suits the patient’s condition.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is used to reduce pain from surgery, arthritis, promote oxygen and blood flow to the treated area and enable an accelerated healing process and recovery. Used immediately after surgery along with compression, it reduces pain and inflammation and facilitates a faster return to functional daily living.

We hire cryotherapy compression units on a daily and weekly rate for post-operative procedures ie; knee joint replacements and reconstructions, shoulder and ankle surgeries. A standard call out fee is charged for providing this service.

Why cryotherapy & what are the benefits?

Cryotherapy is the term used when ice or iced water is used to treat a musculoskeletal condition or inflammation of the body.

It is often used after a sporting injury or an orthopaedic operation. Modern cryotherapy appliances make it simpler, easier and more effective to do at home.

Cryotherapy has the immediate effect of vasoconstriction on the local tissues it is applied to, causing the injured tissues to lower their metabolism and enzymatic activity, decreasing oxygen demand. It relieves swelling and reflexive muscle activity secondary to injury and slows nerve conduction, subsequently relieving pain. Importantly it reduces and inhibits the painful effects of swelling, providing the benefit of a faster recovery.
